What is acne?
Acne is an inflammation of the pores of the face, neck, chest and back. Many refer to acne as blackheads or whiteheads when there is no inflammation; just clogged pores. When the spots are red and sometimes sore, they are referred to as pimples, zits, papules, or pustules. Nodular acne is when the pimples become really inflamed, larger and hard.
What causes acne?
Basically, acne forms when pores in your skin become clogged with oil and dead skin cells that don’t exfoliate or shed like they should. When the oil and dead skin cells stay in the pore opening too long, the bacteria deep in the pores start to feed on the oil. The immune system is triggered and inflammation of the pores begins. Acne pimples can take up to 90 days to form and require a strategic approach to clear.
How is acne treated?
Controlling acne can be a struggle for many. Not only can it be painful and potentially scarring, it can also create anxiety, low self-esteem and depression. About Us
As a licensed esthetician, I owned my own full service clinic and offered many treatments. I found of all these treatments, by far the most rewarding was working on patients who were suffering from acne. I became certified in the Face Reality line of products because of its reputation and the success stories I was hearing. I began seeing amazing results on virtually everyone I was treating with the line of products regardless of gender, age, or skin type.
In 2020, I was forced to close my practice due to the pandemic. I still maintained many of my acne clients and continued to customize product solutions for their individual needs. I realized I was having the same high rate of success with existing and even new clients while eliminating costly quarterly in person treatments. I saw an important need and have shifted my focus to creating a program that strives to be affordable for everyone. Many start up costs on acne programs that run 8-12 weeks can cost near or above $1000. I have designed my program to be far less to start and with reasonable maintenance costs to follow.
